The work consists of an allegorical tome titled ‘a guide to life’ resting on a lectern.
In life, one needs to be attentive, cautious and brave. If not, one remains chained, unable to move and be guided through life. On both its covers, the tome is seemingly desecrated by objects that signify the trials and tribulations of life. Despite the danger being real, as there are sharp ends hidden about, it is possible to manipulate and open the tome. Inside is the Guidance.

The Guidance is set on two black canvas panels. The left panel has a silver triangle circumscribed by a golden circle. The right panel has a silver triangle inscribed with a golden circle. The meaning of the Guidance and the guidance one wants to take from it is left to the beholder.

Everyone receives guidance in life; starting with the family, teachers, friends, lovers, mentors and even strangers. We are given counsel to be good and yet we find ourselves in this world. Something, somewhere, somehow gets lost in translation.
