Tankstation Cultureel Vulpunt in Enschede was celebrating its 10th anniversary of residence at Deurningerstraat 28. The then curator Niels F. Rodenburg invited old and new artists and volunteers to participate in a group exposition and be a part of the celebrations.
The theme was simply Tankstation. The theme was interpreted foremost as a filter. Only works that were conceived of or made within Tankstation were selected. The composition hadn’t formed yet. A regular grid would do just fine.
In the run up to the celebrations an unsurprising number of incidents occured that formed the composition. Hypocritical behaviour when you want to stand on the right side of history or a sense of universal (mostly Leftist) morality offers a bad taste. This distaste birthed a dare – a litmus test – to know if free thinking exists.
If it is then it is untitled.
If it isn’t then is the artist dead?
